Green-Cotton- It’s green and it’s organic.

Another fabulous brand coming out of Denmark that we just had to get our hands on this Spring Summer is Green-Cotton and it sits well next to the other top Danish design brands available at Tootsie and Fudge this spring and summer.

Green-Cotton has become very popular because of its environmentally friendly policies and sustainable textiles.  Not to mention the fact that this cotton is just so incredibly soft. It actually belongs in a shop for people to touch, feel and fall in love with. Online, these clothes rely on the image and Green-Cottons reputation ….the treat will come when they arrive and you feel for yourself the quality of the product that you have purchased.

But anyway, before you fall for this organic thing – what is it that we are talking about. It is true that at the moment we are all being bombarded by the words organic – in every part of our lives – food, cosmetics, furniture and clothing.  Is it any surprise that we are all getting confused and wondering what it is that we are actually paying for? When we buy an organic cotton product from Green-Cotton what does this mean?

“A piece of clothing is an industrial product that has been through some processes. So you can not use the term “organic clothes”. It is the cotton that is organic, not the clothes. The fact that organic cotton has been used, is not a guarantee that the dying and treatment processes are environmental safe. Green Cotton guarantees a life cycle approach, where all stages in the product’s life cycle is taken into consideration. So the dying and print is without heavy metals, PVC and formaldehyde. There has been no use of opticial whitener, chlorine bleach, flame retardants or phthalates.” www.green-cotton.dk

Tootsie and Fudge have launched Green-Cotton this season with a selection of clothing for babies and toddlers up to age 2.  We really hope that you love it as much as we do.
